Chris Fraser back with a blast

Chris Fraser returned to winning ways for the first time since Event 4 2011 in spectacular form beating Michael Valentine by an emphatic 11-1 scoreline in the final.

As always there were some groups tougher than others and the stand out 'group of death' was that of Pringle, Valentine, Kempinski. Murray and Clark. The group lived up to it's name sending No2 seed Pringle home early taking only 6 racks from a possible 24 and finishing rock bottom of the table. The first place finishers in each group would qualify for the quarter finals with second and third place going into the last 16 draw. It would be Kempinski, Fraser, Watt and Waliszewski that would take their place straight into the last 8.

In the quarters Glasgow's Darren Murray was once again drawn against Edinburgh's Cameron Bowes and for the second time in a row Murray failed to get to the next round albeit on this occasional he will feel that the rolls were not with him. Holden continues to impress at this event and disposed of much fancied Andy Morris comfortably. Moir edged the all Edinburgh tie with Blackstock and Valentine took care of Bailey.

Watt v Moir was the match of the quarters with Watt taking it on the hill despite some unwanted noise disruptions from the watching crowd. Kempinski eased past Holden, Fraser v Bowes was tight all the way before Fraser took the last few frames and finally Valentine ending Waliszewskis great run in the tournament to book his semi spot.

Kempinski and Watt's fine runs were to come to an end in the semis at the hands of Valentine and Fraser respectively setting up a re-run of event 1 final. On this occasion it was Fraser who was to dominate and send out a scoreline that shocked the pool world.

Yet another new winner this year, four events and four different winners. Once again the trophy remains in Edinburgh for the third time running.

Look out for Event 5 details coming soon.......a fifth different winner??
